What we do beyond the gallery walls
Residencies, community programmes, publications, and pop-up interventions. The work that doesn't fit in a white cube; and shouldn't have to.
Towards Practice - Building the Emerging Artist
Workshops, mentorship sessions, and real exhibition opportunities for young artists in Nairobi who haven't had much institutional support. The programme prioritises process over product, getting comfortable with making, failing, and trying again. Because everyone starts somewhere.
And the earlier you get a proper room to work in, the better.
2021 [Past Project ]
A curatorial and exhibition workshop focused on equipping emerging artists with the tools to navigate professional artistic practice. Mentorship, critique sessions, hands-on exhibition planning. Usanii Mashariki Gallery, Nairobi

Beyond the Limits: Pop-Up Art Centres
Community · Malawi · 2021– ongoing
Pop-up art schools and exhibition spaces emerging as an intervention in a community shaped by limited access to formal education. Children are invited to engage with art as a way of expanding their sense of possibility. Not as escape, but as a tool for imagining "otherwise." A quiet but powerful assertion that different lives can be envisioned, and eventually, pursued.

Griot
Publication · 2023
A publication exploring African proverbs as living philosophy, not museum artefacts. Curated and edited as a space for reflection, humour and genuine cultural transmission. The griot tradition is about keeping knowledge moving. That's what this book tries to do.
