The Common Cell
Every human being is potentially a prisoner. Not because we are all secretly criminal. But because the distance between a life and a cell is often a matter of inches.
The free person is not a better person. The free person is a prisoner who has not yet been caught.
This exhibition asks one question: What would I have done in their place?
Not what you hope. What you would actually have done.
If your answer is certain, you have not asked the question honestly.
The distance between you and the person in this photograph is not virtue. It is inches.
